Sunset Soiree

September 22, 2018

A Sunset Soiree for the Piedras Blancas Light Station. The Wineries of the Pacific Coast Wine Trail will host an intimate sunset event to benefit the Piedras Blancas Light Station on Saturday, September 22 from 4-6:30 pm. Festivities will be held on the light station grounds located north of San Simeon. Guests will be treated to artisan wines, wood fired pizzas by Bear & The Wren, live music by Marcus DiMaggio and a spectacular sunset over the Pacific.

The Pacific Coast Wine Trail was established in 2013 to promote wine tasting along the Northern San Luis Obispo County Coast. The trail stretches from Cambria to Harmony, allowing wine lovers to appreciate the mild weather and beauty of the coast while enjoying a full day of wine tasting from an eclectic group of boutique wineries. “This event was calendared to unveil the newly restored Fog Signal Building and offer guests a rare opportunity to wander the grounds and enjoy this national treasure after-hours. The addition of fine wines, exceptional food and live music will make for an unforgettable event,” says Kim Mulligan of Harmony Cellars, Treasurer of the Pacific Coast Wine Trail.

Funds raised from event ticket sales and silent auction will support the Piedras Blancas Light Station Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to restore and preserve the Light Station to its period of greatest historical significance, provide educational opportunities to the public and facilitate scientific research. Construction for the Piedras Blancas Light Station began in April 1874, and the light was first lit on February 15, 1875. The Fog Signal Building, constructed in 1906, is considered one of the most architecturally interesting sound-producing structures along the West Coast. Both the tower and Fog Signal Building are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tickets for the Sunset Soiree can be purchased online at PacificCoastWineTrail.com. Early bird pricing is $75 per person until July 31. After July 31, tickets are $85 per person. Parking will be available on the light station grounds. This is a 21 and older event.
